Magic Corner is a low-cost, classroom-based emotional learning tool designed for rural primary and secondary schools with limited space, staff, and mental health resources.
The project began as a larger campus healing space model, but conversations with rural teachers made one thing clear: many schools did not need a separate counseling room that required extra staff and maintenance. They needed something smaller, easier to operate, and directly embedded into students’ daily classroom environment.
In response, I redesigned the model into a one-to-two-square-meter classroom wall that teachers can update in 5–10 minutes. Each Magic Corner includes monthly themes, interactive student zones, visual psychology materials, a teacher checklist, and a simple operation manual.
Rather than asking students to enter a formal counseling space, Magic Corner brings emotional support into a place they already know: the classroom. It helps students practice naming emotions, understanding themselves, and building healthier relationships through small, repeated, everyday interactions.

The animals were cared for, but not alive in spirit. Before the Healing Glass House, our school animals lived in an empty classroom under artificial light. They were fed and protected, but the turtles barely moved, the rabbits seemed withdrawn, and the room felt more like storage than shelter. When I began designing a campus healing space, I realized that students were not the only ones who needed a better environment. So I moved the animals into a glass house with sunlight, plants, and space for students to visit. The room became less like a therapy room and more like a place people naturally wanted to enter. This project taught me that care does not always need to announce itself. Sometimes, it works best when it feels like life.
